ChampMay
You never know how many Mays we have left.
Today is the last day of May, and May is my favorite month. There’s something about the time before summer actually arrives. It’s like a Thursday… the weekend still ahead, the Friday still to look forward to.
Years ago my family started a ritual: we drink champagne every day in May. We call it Champ May. It’s meant to be a celebration of life.
When I was a child, I looked forward to the summers. Nothing was better than the end of school — a reprieve from the pressure of grades and early mornings. As an adult, I still carry the same warm feelings about this time of year.
But today is bittersweet. The month is coming to a close. There’s still the summer to look forward to, and tonight I’ll open something special. You never know how many Mays we have left.
